10 Feb 2019: Stake Division[]
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints organized a new stake in the Kinshasa Region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo). The Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo Lukunga Stake was organized from a division of the Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo Ngaliema Stake. The new stake includes the following six wards and one branch: the Kimbwala 1st, Kimbwala 2nd, Malueka 1st, Malueka 2nd, Lutendale 1st, and Mazal Wards, and the Lutendale 2nd Branch. There are now 11 stakes in the Kinshasa metropolitan area.
It is the second stake of the year 2019 to be created in this country.
Note also : March 12-30 is the Open House for the new Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo Temple.

It is presented in a four year chronological rotation, integrating all areas of study to create a clear picture of the history of our world.

Kinshasa Congo Temple[]
The Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo Temple is the 163rd operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, (LDS Church) and the 1st temple completed in Congo. This will be the fourth temple in Africa; three others are currently operating are the Johannesburg South Africa Temple, Accra Ghana Temple and Aba Nigeria Temple. The Durban South Africa Temple is under construction and the Abidjan Ivory Coast (Côte d’Ivoire) Temple has been announced. It stands next to the Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo Stake Center on land that was reserved for several years for a future temple. An institute and seminary building also operates on the 10-acre property.
